I’ve hinted about a little project. And here’s a sneak peak!
Almost 10 years ago, a group of us were inspired by a $2,500 necklace in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. As it was far beyond our price range, we each set out to create our own version. In just one evening, I was hooked. Soon I was spending my free time at the local bead shops where I learned beading and wire-wrapping techniques and tricks.
Within a year, it became more than a hobby. I formed a real business. Soon I was selling my designs at upscale boutiques and doing trunk shows at retail locations. It was three years of bliss. But then circumstances changed and I went in to medical sales and started traveling extensively. This left little time for design. I went back to just creating for myself and friends.
That brings me to today. Now that I’m no longer in medical sales, I’ve had some free time. And I’ve been creating! Hopefully by this fall, my new line will launch. My business has always been called Paisley Pug Designs – that will not change. I will be selling on Etsy. The graphics are already up, if you’d like to take a look.
Caution! Shameless plug ahead…. Most of my pieces are wire-wrapped with sterling silver. Many have been slightly oxidized and then polished – so they’re dark in just the right places. I primarily use high quality gemstones, artisan-crafted lampwork beads and Murano glass.
Following are a few of my pieces. Please take a look and let me know your thoughts. I’d love your feedback.
All photos in this post were taken by me. Jewelry designs will soon be available at PaisleyPug.com.

Congratulations again and if there is anything I can do to help promote, I would be more than happy to. Just let me know. =)

Wrapping is a pain! I’m impressed with your technique and I love the last photo. I spent some time making jewelry last year, but gave it up from lack of time. (I’m a freelance designer with two children, so time is a big luxury.)

With freelance designing and two children, you are certainly a busy girl. Thanks so much for your comment and have a happy weekend!

Hi Piper! I love the blue stones in the top photos -what great colors! The beads remind me of Pandora charm bracelets -which are gorgeous, but really pricey at $35 a bead -or $800 -$4000 a bracelet! Do you think you might make charm bracelets?
♥Elisa- First off – thanks so much! I’d never thought about it, but you’re right…that bead does look a little like a Pandora bead. And I must say, it was one of the most expensive beads I’ve ever purchased because of the fact that it’s handmade. I have no plans to do charm bracelets immediately, but what a great idea! I will keep it in mind a little bit down the road. Thanks so much for the idea and have a beautiful day!
