Looking for a way to dress up classic hoop earrings? Try adding charms. Not only is it quick and easy, but also a good way to get extra mileage out of something most of us already own.
For the charms, all that’s needed is a headpin and a bead. In this example, I’m using a Swarovski headpin (with a clear crystal at the tip) and a Murano glass bead. The best hoop earrings for this project are those that are thin and with a consistent width throughout. That way the charm can be added or removed easily:
First, just slide the bead over the headpin:
Time for tools. Needle-nose pliers:
Wrap the headpin around one side of the needle-nose pliers to form a circle:
Next tool, wire cutters:
Snip off the excess wire:
Then straighten out the loop and close up the circle:
Slide the charm onto hoop earring. Finished!
All photos in this post were taken by me. And I’m not sure where I purchased these ho0p earrings, as I’ve had them for many years.
