Deceptively Simple:
After commenting that he was “tired of people wearing evening clothes to work,” Kors offered an alternative in his latest collection yesterday at Bryant Park.
Sheer Luxury
With a palette composed mainly of rich greys and a perfect dijon/camel color, the pieces exuded luxury and sophistication.
With an emphasis on knitwear, there was hardly a “basic sweater” in the bunch. Some of the looks included: huge cowl necks, exaggerated v-necks and sheer knits.
As a whole, I would describe this collection as being deceptively simple. At first glance, many of the looks involved clean lines and more minimalistic styling than seen at some shows… But that was the genius of it. The details were executed beautifully in the way they were not immediately obvious. But from the cut of the trousers and body-hugging skirts to the rich aged-cognac-colored leather accessories, this collection allowed the wearer’s natural beauty to shine through.
Play favorites again…
For me, the Kors collection ranks in the top 5 of this Fashion Week. To be honest, I personally wouldn’t wear the fur pieces. I wish designers in general would stay away from real fur. But that fact aside, I consider the collection to be magnificent.
