Romantic Eclectic:
Exploring their Mexican roots and with a dreamy “sleepwalking” interpretation, the Sisters Mulleavy presented their Fall 2010 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week yesterday.
With embroidered (what appeared to be) tulle and lace leggings, soft prints, lots of layers and crochet details – I would describe the collection as romantic eclectic.
While there were many elements at play across the collection, often put together in a patchwork type fashion – for me, it still had a cohesive feel.
Many of the ensembles involved a criss-crossed, wrapped-fabric look. From the lace-up shoes to the way scarves of fabric wrapped around the models, it was a constant and unifying element.
My favorites were the richly-detailed crocheted sweaters. I think they will easily be taken from the runway into real life. I imagine wearing one of these sweaters this fall with jeans and boots for an afternoon of shopping.

To be honest, I’ve never been really too fond of Rodarte’s clothes. HOWEVER, I am fond of their footwear. I love the shoes they come out with every season. This season was no exception. The back of the heels glow-in-the-dark! How insane is that? I love it. I’m still in love with their bandage heels.
