Doesn’t Everyone Collect Something?
I’ve always been a collector. As a child, it began with an assortment of uniquely colored stones. Not much has really changed with the stone collecting. I’ve just moved up to prettier rocks — and now they’re set in jewelry.
Brooches have been especially fun. Vintage shops always seem to have a few in stock. Several are quite ornate and unlike what’s being made today. Many have a bit of patina around the edges. You can tell they’re vintage just by looking at them. I especially like those.
And there are so many fashion possibilities for brooches! Of course, one can wear it as a brooch…but having collected these beauties for years, I’ve found many more ways to display them.
This week is insanely hectic. So, today I just grabbed a couple to photograph and show. (By my photos, you can tell I haven’t yet fulfilled my new year’s resolution to improve my photography skills.)
Next week, I’ll share with you some of my unconventional uses for brooches.

I love vintage broaches! I only have a few though….
❤ Melissa–You obviously have more self-control than I
do…I find them very addictive.
Those are beautiful! I don’t have any, not even one. I’ve seen them everywhere, but now that I want one, I can’t find any. I picture using a vintage broach to secure a sweater wrap or a big long scarf.

❤ Tina–Sounds like Deb needs to design you a broach. lol!
Vintage or new, they’re a great accessory! I’ve always loved wearing a bunch of them all clustered together.

❤ Ashe–You’re right, wearing them in bunches is a fantastic
look. I especially like to do that with my smaller,
really old ones. I think it brings them back to life.
Started collecting vintage costume jewelry in the mid 1980′s and
really regret not buying loads of it back then when the prices
were low! Can’t get enough of it – lol.

❤ Tammara–You are so right! As the years go by it seems
selection has gone down and prices have shot up. I guess
a lot of people are loving these lovelies.
Lovely baubles! You would love to come play dress up in my jewelry boxes!
