Something Special:
For me, handmade gifts are a special treat. To realize someone took time to actually make my gift by hand–warms my heart.

And based on the success of many Etsy shops, it seems others appreciate these treasures as well.
Now don’t get me wrong…I love store-bought gifts too! After all, where else would I get fun makeup gift sets or my new favorite fragrance *Eau de Sisley No. 3. (Thanks M!)
There’s just something about handmade. This holiday season I received handmade cards from my friend L. She made them herself; and as you’ll see below–she’s quite talented.
The day after I received them, I sat down and slowly went through each one. There were 18 in all — and every single card was unique. They’re almost too pretty to use.
I thought I’d share a few. Hope you enjoy!

I think handmade gifts are much better than store bought. Someone actually took the time to create something special for you..really shows how much they care!

Handmade gifts are AMAZING! I absolutely love them–to make them, buy them, and receive them! Etsy is such a dangerous place for me… it’s why I have the Indie Designers series… because if I can’t keep buying their products all of the time, I’d might as well enable others!

I love your friend’s handmade cards. That was really implemented well.
You’re right; I’d have trouble using them b/c I’d want to keep them forever.
You’re also right that handmade = extra special.
When my son was born, he was gifted two crocheted blankets. I crochet, and I know how time consuming it is, so I nearly cried at the thoughtfulness.
All that…from someone I hardly knew & someone I didn’t know at all.
It kinda restores your faith in humanity or something.
Anyway, yes…handmade rocks!

My mom and I used to rubberstamp cards. Also she has friends who
will send mailing envelopes made out of old magazine pages.
I always wished I was that creative with paper.
