Christmas Quotes & Pics
Doing the Holiday Hustle:
Later today my hubby and I will begin decking the halls. Normally I would have had this done about two weeks ago…so this is really late in the season for me.
Holiday Magic
I grew up with a dear friend who’s mother turned their home into a winter wonderland each year. I vowed that someday my home would look just like theirs. Although the process took several years of collecting special pieces–I’m finally where I wanted to be.
To me, the transformation from everyday to holiday is magical. And I enjoy it to the best of my abilities. If I’m home I make sure every Christmas light is on. I like to burn fir-scented candles. And I try to make sure there’s a little bit of holiday decor in every room of the house.
Sharing Holiday Happiness
So in the spirit of the holidays, I felt like sharing some holiday happiness with the following pics and quotes. Hope you enjoy. And I’d love to hear about your holiday experiences and traditions. So if you have a minute–share. ![]()
I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.
~Shirley Temple (Cute quote but–Bad Santa!)
The only blind person at Christmastime is he who has not Christmas in his heart.
~Helen Keller
Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.
~Norman Vincent Peale

Thank you! What beautiful pictures and great quotes. What WAS Santaa
thinking? A nice little break in the day.
I should have added that this will be the first Christmas
we are going to spend alone, since the children have all flown the
nest. We have one in College, but, it is far away, he is working
and can’t make it home. All the kids live far since we
are located in the Very Northwestern edge of the country
and they are in either the very Southwestern area, very Mid-south or the Great Lakes
area.
We are still decorating and mailing out cookies since we are wanting to
feel in the spirit. But, it is hard. The beginning of a new Chapter in our
lives for this time of the season.
Can’t wait for the grandkids so they can visit and make it like it was 20-27 years ago all
over again.
Too bad we can’t post pictures of our decorations. It was fun doing the patio
this year! Maybe I will change my gravatar for the season.
❤ Michele–Thank you so much for your kind words about this post.
It does sound like this Christmas is going to be very different
for your family.
My hubby and I do not have children, and each year throw a big
holiday party for our friends. It’s been a tradition for
several years now. We all look forward to it…and even though
it’s an unconventional sort of family gathering, we love it.
Looking forward to the party, preparing for it and then being
amongst such good friends on that special evening really seems to
fill our holidays with joy and love.
Hope you and your husband are able to make some new and
exciting holiday traditions. And before you know it, it will
all change again with the arrival of some precious grandbabies.
BTW…I would love to see pics of your holiday decorations. You
should post them on our Facebook fan page! Here’s a link:
