October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month:
According to the National Cancer Institute, besides skin cancer, breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. “Each year, more than 211,000 American women learn they have this disease.“
Based on the current rates, it’s estimated that 12.7% of women born today will be diagnosed at some point with breast cancer.

Statistics are Improving.
On a much more positive note, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation reports, “While the incidence of breast cancer cases is rising, the mortality rate from breast cancer is decreasing.” Ongoing research can help improve these statistics even more.
