For applying gel eyeliner, my personal favorite brush is:

smashbox Arced Liner Brush #21. While it may look a little odd with its bent tip, I’ve found this tip makes application a breeze. The ergonomic brush conforms to the shape of the eye.
Another reason to like it? The head of the brush is thin, allowing for precise application. I’ve found other thin brushes that were too thin and therefore were difficult to control. This one is perfect. Another bonus of a thin brush is that no liner is wasted.

I have to say that I disagree with you on the best brush for gel eyeliner. I work as a makeup artist and use both Smashbox and Bobbi Brown eyeliner brushes daily. I still think the Bobbi brush is the best…hands down!

I have a way more affordable version of this kind of brush by
Sonia Kashuk for Target. I believe it’s only around $6.
You can’t beat that! I’ve never gone back to any other brush.
This is the only eyeliner brush I use.
