Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner meets Fluidline. Who wins?
Due to reader request, we’ve done a head-to-head comparison of BB vs. MAC liners. Read on to see how each gel eye liner stacked up across 5 categories.
Texture and Consistency:
This category showed the biggest differences between the two. MAC was very thick and dense, while BB was more of a very thick gel…more pliable.
Ease of Application:
Application for both was simple. Using a good brush was important with each. I personally felt like I could get deeper into the lash line with BB because it wasn’t quite as thick. And BB also gives a little more time to smudge out – if you’d like, because it doesn’t dry as quickly. If you want a quicker dry…MAC seems faster.
Wearability:
Both are winners in this category. I wore BB on one eye and MAC on the other for an entire day. Both performed very well.
Color Selection:
Comparing the websites of both brands, Bobbi Brown wins with 18 different colors. Meanwhile, MAC has just 6.
Price:
MAC wins for price. Both contain 0.1 ounces. MAC retails for $15. BB is priced at $21.
Final Thoughts and Opinions:
My opinion is that both are great liners and it comes down to personal preference. If you’re looking for a thicker, faster-drying formula in a basic color–MAC would be your choice and would save you $6.
However, if you want a large selection of colors and more time to “play” before your liner sets–Bobbi Brown is your winner. It will cost you a little more but in my experience, I was able to really get right into the lash line with BB because it wasn’t as thick. This made it a winner for me.

Ive never used Bobbi but own a few fluidlines… really love the fluidline but now am intrigued to try the BB… christmas IS coming up so i might have to tell someone what to put in my stocking haha

Eyeliner is pretty much the one make up item that I always use.
In fact, it is the only cosmetic I need to wear —
otherwise, I feel naked!
Although I have not tried either of these particular eyeliners,
they both look like a real TREASURE – I would love to try both!
