Answering Reader Questions:
We get questions from our readers on a regular basis. Sometimes through the “Comments” section and sometimes through the Contact Us form located at the bottom of the page. Either way is perfectly fine. We welcome all comments and questions.
In fact, we encourage them.
When we get the same question asked more than once, we figure there are probably more of you wondering the same thing. So today we’ll address the latest.
Recent QUESTIONS:
- How does MAC Fluidline stack up to Bobbi Brown’s Gel Eyeliner?
- How do I get my picture to appear next to my comment?
- What the heck is the flashing Eiffel Tower in the right sidebar of the site?
Our ANSWERS:
MAC Fluidline vs. Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner: Because of reader interest we will be doing a head-to-head comparison within the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned for our results.
How to get picture to appear with your comment: First off, bear with me…I’m definitely not a techie, but here’s what I’ve learned. You probably already know the little picture that appears next to your comments is called an Avatar. Unfortunately Avatars don’t often travel with you from site to site. You have to continue uploading your Avatar on each individual site.
That’s all changed! Now there’s Gravatar. This is a Globally Recognized Avatar. Upload your picture one time and it should appear on most sites. And it couldn’t be much easier. Just go to this site to sign up. It’s free and there’s even a 2 minute video to explain the process.
Flashing Eiffel Tower in the right sidebar of site: This is my latest find. Just like you-I’m so busy all the time. But I like to stay up-to-date on the things that interest me. Therefore I follow several blogs.
Maybe you’ve come up with a good way to do this, but I hadn’t. I tried bookmarking my favorites–but they’d get mixed up with other bookmarks. I even tried doing a folder of shortcuts to these sites on my desktop. It’s embarrassing, but I couldn’t figure out a good system!
Then, just a few days ago I found a link to bloglovin’ on one of my favorite sites. The flashing Eiffel Tower got my attention…so I clicked on it. And I am so glad I did! For me, bloglovin’ is better than sliced bread (and with fewer carbs.)
The concept is so simple. You choose what blogs you want to follow. Then, whenever you log in to bloglovin’ only the new posts for these chosen sites appear….OK, wait for it…..ALL on ONE PAGE! What could be easier?
Sign up is free and requires just a name/email address/password. That’s it. If you follow even just two blogs-this is a time saver.
And you know when I find something good, I have to share! So that’s the story behind the flashing Eiffel Tower. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Hope that helped! Please let me know your questions and I’ll do my best to get them answered.
Hugs,
Piper
