As we head into July, one thing is certain.  Frizz Season for hair.  I, like most women I know have tried product after product in vain.  Each one claiming to end frizz.  None achieving this fete.

Unknown to me, a team of scientists led by an MIT professor was working away to find a solution.  What set this group apart from their colleagues was that they did not come from the beauty industry.  As outsiders, they were truly “thinking outside the box.”  And this new approach worked!

The brand is Living Proof.  The product is No Frizz.  And I’m here to say I am Living Proof that it does work!  I use their Straight Making No Frizz Styling Spray.  After the first use I wasn’t sure what to think.  After a few more uses I wouldn’t be without it!

Tips and Tricks

I’ve found that one must determine their own application amount.  Of course there are recommendations on the bottle.  However I found I didn’t need quite that much.  And it seems to work best with heat, either blow drying hair with a brush or flat ironing.

But don’t take my word for it.  Listen to the beauty experts.  They can’t get enough of this product!

How is it Different?

Up until now most anti-frizz formulas used silicone.  However, the Living Proof scientists realized water vapor particles could eventually slip through silicone–causing frizz to return.  In search of a better solution, they found polyfluoroester, an ingredient used to put a protective coating on contact lenses and DVD’s.  Silicone normally sits on the surface of hair.  This new ingredient worked more like a spackle–filling in any gaps.

The Clinical Benefits.

No Frizz resisted about 30% more moisture than leading silicone sprays.  And repeated use increased its effectiveness significantly.  Another benefit:  Hair coated with polyfluoroester is more resistant to dirt and oils.  This means less frequent washings.  Next they’re going to tell us it makes your bed in the morning too!  OK, maybe it can’t do everything…
